Poem for GABI

Published March 8, 2012 by lowercase v

Love you Gabi Iggy

DEAR GABI
it breaks my heart
when i see your scar
it breaks my heart
when i touch your tender nose
it breaks my heart
when you’re cowering with fear
of bigger dogs
and men.
that i don’t really know where you’ve been.

why they didn’t love you
like i do?
why they didn’t take better care?

even with the bad habits
and all the fears
even with the frustrations
and tears
the time and money spend.
it’s worth it in the end.
in the end:

my sweetest dearest iggy girl
i wouldn’t trade you for anything
in the world.
